5 Ways To Save Money Right Now

Cancel your TV subscription

Don’t freak out, I have a cheaper solution for you!  My monthly TV bill was around $150 and that was just to much for me.  My kids watch Netflix mostly, or play on their tablets.  I love TV, but my husband and I watch a couple shows a night and that’s it.  So I decided that I was done with paying $150 a month when I felt we didn’t watch TV that much.

Instead of paying all that money, we got a subscription to Sling TV.  This is a TV service that streams through the internet.  We use our Amazon Fire Stick to do this, get yours here, they are amazing!  Sling TV has multiple different packages and channels you can get, it’s WAY cheaper, and you can still watch your favorite shows.  My package is $20.  We also have Netflix, so in total we pay $28 a month.  I just saved us $122 a month!

Sign up for Sling TV here, you will get a free trial to see how you like it.  And I’m sure you will LOVE it.

Get money saving coupon apps

I had heard everyone talking about money saving apps like Ibotta and Checkout51.  They have coupons and save you money.  At first, I thought I don’t have time for coupons and more work while grocery shopping.  But I finally gave in and decided to check it out, let me just say I LOVE IT!  The deals on there aren’t just a few cents off of something.  My first time using it I got back $21 and I had only spent $60 at the store.  Can you believe that?

First, you download the app.  Then you pick stores you shop at and you can look at all the offers.  Click on the offers you want and add them to your list, then after you are done shopping you scan your receipt and get your money.  The offers are good ones too, they are whole dollar amounts!

They also have bonus for when you buy certain things and cash back for online shopping on different websites.

Check it out and start saving now!

Here are the Checkout51 deals!

Plan your meals

Cut back on going out to eat.  I know lots of families that go out to eat a few times a week.  This adds up, especially if you have a big family.  We were going out to eat a lot, mainly for convenience.

I realized how much money we were spending and decided to cut back.  Now we only go out to eat twice a month.  If I know we are going to be out running errands for a long time, I make sure I bring healthy snacks with us.  That way we don’t have to stop and buy random junk because the kids are “starving” 🙂

This also applies to grocery shopping.  Plan out your dinners for the week and make a list.  If you have a list of things you need before you go to the store, you are less likely to buy random, unnecessary things.  Take your lunch to work.  If you, or your husband, typically buy lunch everyday, then you are spending lots of money on food during the week.  You can save right now by just taking your lunch.

Doing these things saves me a few hundred dollars a month.  Here is a great meal planning bundle!

Shop Clearance Clothing

I am a self proclaimed clearance Queen.  There are multiple stores that have a great clearance section, even some online stores.  My favorite stores to shop clearance are Target and Old Navy, and online at Children’s Place.  Target and Old Navy have huge sections dedicated to clearance.  Most the time I just go to shop the clearance areas.  I buy most the kids clothing and my clothing on clearance.

Every section in Target has a clearance section, so as you walk around the store look for the clearance areas.  You can find even more than just clothing there.  They have clearance home items, food, makeup, etc.  Another way to save more money at Target, along with your clearance items, is to get the Target Red Card.  You don’t even have to get the credit card one, they also have a debit card.  The debit card works just like a regular debit card, except you save 5% on your total.  Check out the Target Red Debit Card here.

Old Navy has a whole clearance section in the back.  They have lots of woman’s clothing back there too, I just got a $30 shirt the other day for $3.  Another way to save money, buying clothing during the off seasons.  I find lots of the kids clothing for less than a dollar.  Then I just store it away until the season it’s needed.  Children’s place has GREAT online deals.  If you sign up for their emails you will get coupon codes all the time and they are worth it.

Change the way you pay bills

This is one that many people will not think of.  In my efforts to save us money this year, I had taken a look at all our bills and realized that some places offered a discount if you have the payment taken directly out of your bank account.

I was able to do this with my car payment, car insurance, and garbage bill.  You many be able to do it with other bills also.  Another thing, if you have bills like internet, TV, cell phone, etc, call those companies and ask about any changes you can make to lower your bill.  Companies like this have promotions and deals that you sometimes don’t know about.  I was able to change my husbands phone bill and lower it just by calling and asking.  They had new plans that we didn’t know about when he had initially gotten his phone.

There you have it 5 Ways to Save Money Right Now.  I have saved my family hundreds of dollars doing these 5 simple things and they do not take long to make these changes in your daily life.  Saving money and budgeting takes effort but it’s worth it in the long run.

Hope these tips were helpful to you.  If you have any other money saving tips, leave them in the comments below.  I love saving money.

Love and Laughs,
Ashley
