Second Month Blogging Report – How I made a few bucks!
Second Month Blogging Report
Hey Y’all! So I am 2 months into launching my blog and I feel like I am doing okay. I haven’t made hundred of dollars like some blogs and let me tell you learning the ends and outs of blogging is a full time job. I have made a few bucks though and that’s more than I had before. It’s enough to get myself a nice latte so I’ll take it. 🙂 All of my followers on social media are moving up and my page views are still moving up. So I AM going in the right direction. Slowly but surly.
My main focus is food and parenting, I don’t really want to blog about blogging too much because well I am still learning. But I have learned a few things that I didn’t know a couple months ago. My new posts even look a whole lot better than my older ones. I went back already and changed the old ones.
So in my first month blogging report I told you the Top tips for new bloggers, check that post out here. Since then I have learned a couple more things. So first things first, I have learned just how important Pinterest is!
I had been trying to figure Pinterest out for awhile with not much luck. So I finally bought an E-book from one of my favorite bloggers, Carly over at Mommy On Purpose, and it helped things finally click for me. The book is written in an easy way to understand. I have just started implementing her Pinterest strategy and my engaged users on Pinterest are already going up and my pins are being pinned way more than before! To get Carly’s ebook Pinteresting Strategies, go here! Also, join group boards! Get the list of my favorite group boards below and get more traffic!
I am still new to affiliates, I a member of a few affiliate programs. One of my favorites is Shareasale because you can share the links on Pinterest. You can make a pin with the affiliate link, so when someone clicks on the pin it goes to the affiliate link. How cool is that!? You can make money without even being online.
I am also an Amazon affiliate, and so far I have made a few bucks that way. One cool thing about amazon is you can put their links on Facebook or Twitter along with you blog posts. They also have lots of different ads and banners to pick from. You can pick one of their promotional banners like the one below.
Or you can make your own recommendation ads, like this one.
Last but not least, website hosting. I keep hearing horror stories about web hosting. Thankfully I have chosen Bluehost and I haven’t had any trouble. My site has never been down and starting my website and opening it all up with WordPress was so simple. I think one of the most important parts of starting your blog is picking the right web hosting service. Bluehost has 1-click installation into WordPress, 24 hour support and a money back guarantee, I mean what more could you want. If you don’t love it, you get you money back. 🙂 Check out all the details on their website below.
Okay so here are the main points
-Pinterest is key! It’s all about the algorithms, and Carly has that figured out for us! Buy her book here. Join group boards, don’t forget to get the list above!
-Join affiliates, like Shareasale, even if you are new to blogging, you might just make a couple bucks like me! It’s more that you had before. 🙂 And it will help you get the hang of it.
-Make sure to pick a trustworthy web host, Bluehost has always treated me right and don’t forget they have a money back guarantee if you don’t love it.
Hope this was helpful to you. I always have enjoyed reading blogging reports from new and old bloggers. I think we can always learn something from each other.
Love and laughs,
