Why Printable Chore Charts are Helpful

My kids have different neurodiversities that make doing tasks such as chores hard for them.  They don’t know where to begin and they feel defeated before they even start.

Providing them with a fun list they can check off as they go helps.  The charts help them see visually what they need to do through out the day.

When they check something off their chore chart, they begin to feel a sense of accomplishment.  Knowing what they need to do during the day ahead of time is also very helpful to prevent their frustration.

Since I have started using these charts, the frustration and fighting about simple tasks has gone WAY down.  The consistency of the chore chart daily makes such a difference.

Charts help with

  • Ending Frustration
  • Consistency
  • Gaining sense of accomplishment
  • Keeping parent sanity 🙂

For these free printable chore charts for home, I made them with pictures and words to help your kids stay on track. So even if your child can’t read yet, they can use these charts.

Some of the tasks are simple but easy to forget.  Kids can wake up, look at their charts and check things off their throughout the day.  Even though they are simple things, checking them off helps them feel accomplished and know the things they need to be doing.

It helps them have a sense of independence.  They know what they need to do daily and I don’t have to tell them multiple times or nag about it.

How to Print & Use Your Chart

First, print off the daily chore chart free printable. All you have to do is click the link below, a new window will pop up with the chart and print that out.

I really like to laminate this one because then the kids can use dry erase markers to check off the boxes as they get things done.  Then you can wipe it off the next day and start over.  If you don’t want to laminate it, you could use magnets to put in each box as the tasks are completed.  You could also buy self laminating paper, no laminator needed! 🙂

I added pictures for each tasks for the little ones who can’t read, and I also added a sun and moon for the day and night boxes that need checked off both times.

I made 2 different styles of the daily chore chart.  There is a blue and green one and a pink and purple one.

They both have a name spot at the top, I wrote their name on them before laminating.
