Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Energy Ball Ingredients
These No Bake Energy Bites are something you can feel good about your kids eating. There are only 6 ingredients and my kids love to help make them. 🙂 You can even be the cool mom and let your kids eat these for breakfast, or maybe try Healthy Banana Oatmeal Muffins for breakfast on the go!
The ingredients are simple, oats (Gluten free oats for GF energy balls), chocolate chips (dairy free chocolate chips if doing DF energy balls), peanut butter, honey, ground flax seeds and chia seeds.
But how can something so delicious be so good for me?
Let me tell you about these healthy ingredients!
Quick cooking oats- Oatmeal is a great source of fiber and helps you stay full longer. I use gluten free oats for this, but you can use whatever you prefer.
Chocolate chips- You don’t want to eat too many of these, but dark chocolate or semi sweet chips are actually good for you. They have a lot of antioxidants. Most people think chocolate isn’t good for you, but I am here to tell you it is!
Peanut Butter- A lot of peanut butters are not good for you. They contain lots of sugar and fillers. Look for a healthier peanut butter that has just a few simple ingredients in it that you can pronounce. Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter, 16 oz is one of our favorites.
Honey- Raw honey has been proven to be beneficial. Just like peanut butter it’s easy to buy junky kinds. But raw honey is disease-fighting and disease-preventing. It helps with allergies, coughs and more.
Ground Flax Seed- Flax seeds are a great addition for the fiber they have. They are also loaded with Omega 3s!
Chia Seeds- These little guys are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids packed into such a small size. Some people don’t like Chia Seeds because they can get stuck in your teeth, you can leave them out if your prefer.
For a peanut allergy, you can also swap out this nut free spread instead of peanut butter.
These no bake energy balls will keep you feeling full and ready to go! They have the good for you fat and protein that makes them the perfect snack or breakfast on the go. Another healthy snack I love to make is Oatmeal Almond Butter Chocolate Cups! They look like candy but are healthy for you too!
No Bake Energy Balls

Making these peanut butter chocolate chip no bake energy balls is so easy and only takes about 5 minutes.
First, I like to blend my oats up in a food processor or a high speed blender works too.
After you blend up the oats, all you have to do is throw everything into a bowl and mix it up! I always start mixing it up with a spoon but end up using my hands. Hands are the best kitchen tool after all.
After everything is mixed together, use a cookie dough scoop to get equal size energy balls. Roll them between your hands to get them packed and smooth.
You can eat them right away or refrigerate them to firm them up.
I prefer them refrigerated.
Makes 12-14 balls depending on the size.
ENJOY!
No Bake Energy Ball Tips and Tricks
I don’t have a food processor what can I do?
You can just use the oats as they are. The texture will be a little different but they are still delicious without blending the oats.
The energy balls came out too wet, now what?
Add a little more oats! No biggie.
They are sticking to my scoop and hands!
Use a little cooking spray to help you out. Spray the scoop and your hands.

The thing that I love most about this energy ball recipe is that you can switch it up however you like. You can use different types of nut butter or different add ins such as nuts or coconut. Or for extra protein and health benefits, add in some collagen powder.
You can also make these in big batches because trust me they go fast!
