You can make any smoothie into a breastfeeding smoothie that increases milk supply, you just have to add the milk boosting ingredients.  These milk supply boosting ingredients are called, galactagogues.  Mothers have been using these natural things to increase their milk supply for ages!

Oatmeal
-Spinach

Lactation Smoothie Recipes

The reason I love lactation smoothies is because they are so delicious and easy to throw together.  There are so many different combinations you can try.

Strawberry Banana Lactation Smoothie

-1 cup frozen strawberries
-1 banana
-1 cup spinach
-1 tablespoon honey
-1 tablespoon ground flax seed
-1 cup almond milk
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high 2 minutes.

 

Banana Oatmeal Lactation Smoothie

-1 banana
-1/4 cup cooked oatmeal
-1 tablespoon almond butter
-1 tablespoon honey
-1 tablespoon brewers yeast
-3/4 cup almond milk
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high 2 minutes.

 

 

Peach Papaya Lactation Smoothie

-1 cup frozen peaches
-1/2 papaya
-1/2 banana
-1 tablespoon honey
-1 tablespoon ground flax seed
-1 cup almond milk
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high 2 minutes.

 

 

 

Fruity Carrot Lactation Smoothie

-1/2 cup baby carrots
-1/2 cup frozen peaches
-1/2 cup frozen strawberries
-1/2 banana
-1 tablespoon brewers yeast
-1 tablespoon honey
-1.5 cups almond milk
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high 2 minutes.

 

Orangey Apricot Oatmeal Smoothie

-1/2 cup dried apricots
-1/2 banana
-1/4 cup cooked oatmeal
-1 tablespoon ground flax seed
-1 tablespoon honey
-3/4 cup orange juice
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend on high 2 minutes.

  • I drink Healthy nursing tea, it works the best for me. I’ve also heard that oatmeal helps, and of course, drink lots of water and try to get enough sleep.
