Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

My kids, just like any other kids, wants cookies and sweest regularly.  I am a mean mom though (according to them) and don’t always give in.  But these Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls are something you can feel good about your kids eating.  There are only 6 ingredients and my kids love to help make them. 🙂 In fact, my oldest son helped make the video for these.

The ingredients are simple, oats, chocolate chips, peanut butter, honey, and chia seeds.  Throw everything into a bowl and mix.  Easy Peasy!  Sometimes I even let the boys think I’m such a cool mom by giving them a couple of these with breakfast.  They think it’s such a treat and their mom is the best. MOM WIN!

Quick cooking oats- Oatmeal is a great source of fiber ad helps you stay full longer.

Chocolate chips- You don’t want to eat too many of these, but dark chocolate or semi sweet chips are actually good for you.  They have a lot of antioxidants. Most people think chocolate isn’t good for you, but I am here to tell you it is! Check out this article to see for yourself.


Peanut Butter- A lot of peanut butters are not good for you.  They contain lots of sugar and fillers.  Look for a healthier peanut butter that has just a few simple ingredients in it that you can pronounce.  Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter, 16 oz is one of our favorites.

Honey- Raw honey has been proven to be beneficial.  Just like peanut butter it’s easy to buy junky kinds.  But raw honey is disease-fighting and disease-preventing.  It helps with allergies, coughs and more.

Chia Seeds- These little guys are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids packed into such a small size.

  3. You can use a small ice cream scoop or your hand to make 12 little balls ENJOY!
