Start Your Self Love Journey
The other day, I am scrolling through my Instagram and there was a post that really hit me.
It said “Your best weight is whatever weight you reach when you’re living the healthiest life you actually enjoy.”
I really felt this post because I have been the girl only focused on losing weight and being small, I wasn’t enjoying anything about it. I wanted to be smaller and smaller.
Your worth is not determined by the scale.
You can learn to love yourself while also being the happiest and healthiest you can be.
I want to help you get started.

Start Your Self Love Journey
Self love is a hard concept for many people. We are our own worst critics. You can take baby steps to love yourself and I want to help. I am going to share with you the tips to start your self love journey. If I can do it, you can too. I have created a self care journal and self care series for those of us who want to get serious about self love.

If you struggle with working out, this video is one of my favorites.
Daily self appreciation
Everyday tell yourself that you love your self and you are beautiful. It sounds silly but after time it sticks. Pick something you love about yourself daily, write it down and think about it. Find some daily mantras to practice deep breaths and say to yourself. Keep yourself in mind throughout the day. Check in with yourself.
Put your scale away
Yes, you heard me right. Put your scale away. Your worth is not determined by the scale. You don’t need to way yourself every day. If you are making an effort every day to become a healthier you then what do you need the scale for? Check in with yourself daily. The scale will not tell you if you have made an effort to be healthier and happier. Only you can do that. If you are actively trying to lose weight for your health, try weighing yourself once a month.
There are PLENTY of healthy and beautiful women who would be considered “overweight” by society standards. I am overweight. Last time I went to the doctor, I had blood work done and they said it looked amazing and I was healthy as can be. My weight is not what determines that.
Take time for self care
Self Care is so important. This may be going for a walk, reading a book ( everyone needs to read this one), taking a hot bath, etc. Make yourself a priority, everyone in your life will benefit from this.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup”
Make healthier choices
Make a solid effort to make healthier choices. This includes eating, working out, and your mental health.
All of these are important.
Make healthier choices when you are eating. Eat fruit or vegetables with every meal. Set goals attainable goals for yourself, such as working out 3 times a week.
When you take proper care of your body, you will start to feel better. You are what you eat, to an extent. When I eat crap, I feel like crap. When you fuel your body with good things that your body needs, you body will perform better. Your body is like a machine, you have to give machines what they need or they don’t run properly.
My last tip
It’s very easy to talk bad about ourselves. Here is the one thing I tell myself to help me on those hard days.
If you would not say it to your child or best friend, don’t say it to yourself.
I would NEVER tell my child or best friend that they looked fat or they were worthless. In fact, I always think the opposite. Even when my child or best friend is having a hard day, I praise them and think they are beautiful and great. So why not do this to myself too?
Most importantly, keep going.
Don’t give up.
It’s not a race to the finish line.
It’s a lifestyle.
A long term commitment to yourself.
You got this.
You are beautiful.
Love, laughs, and self love!
