Homemade Soup Recipes
Making soups is one of my favorite dinners to make, for real, you should see how I act. Also, soups have tons of flavor and they are easy to make.
They are also a great way to use up any veggies you have that are about to go bad! Look in the fridge and add in what you got.
For me it’s soup season all the time, but especially in the cold weather you will be thankful you have these simple soups on hand.
Make Any Simple Soup Recipe Your Own
When making any dinner or soups for your family, make them your own so your family can enjoy them to the max!
This is especially true if you have kids, if your kid just really doesn’t like an ingredient in the simple soup recipe, you can leave it out.
If you don’t like an ingredients or don’t have and ingredient, swap it out for something else. For example, the meat, if they recipes calls for ground beef but you only have ground turkey, that’s just fine!
If one of the ingredients doesn’t fit in with your dietary needs, change it to one that does.
Making these small changes in the recipes as needed is how you can grow in cooking and make your own family favorites. 🙂

I like to make double batches of my favorite soups, sometimes I keep in the fridge or freezer to eat throughout the week and other times I freeze to have for another dinner!
If you want to keep individual servings in the freezer, there are different size molds, like the ones shown below, that make keeping your simple soup recipes on hand for lunch really easy.
You can just pop it out of the mold and reheat in the microwave or saucepan.
If I am going to store the whole batch of soup in the fridge or freezer, I use an air tight freezer safe container, like the one below.
When you want to defrost a homemade soup that you have stored in the freezer for awhile, there are a couple options.
You can let it sit on the counter for a little bit until it can be loosened enough to dump into a soup pan and reheat. Or defrost it in the microwave. Make sure your container is freezer and microwave safe if doing it that way.
