Creamy Brussel Sprouts With Bacon

When I was in high school, I went over to a friends house and her parents were boiling brussel sprouts.  I remember thinking how gross is smelled in their house and never wanting to eat brussel sprouts in my life. 

Fast forward 10 years, I have tried brussel sprouts and I love them.  

Anytime I mention loving brussel sprouts to anyone, they act like I am insane.  But they are one of my favorite vegetables!  If you are skeptical, try my recipe before you deny brussel sprouts!  This creamy brussel sprouts recipe is my favorite vegetable recipe I have ever eaten.  My husband says it’s his favorite recipe too!

Creamy Brussel Sprouts

This recipe is creamy, garlicy, bacony and ultimately delicious.

Creamy Brussel Sprouts with bacon is keto diet friendly, low carb and gluten free.

All you need for this recipes is a skillet with lid.

INGREDIENTS

  • Brussel sprouts
  • Garlic salt
  • Cream cheese
  • Bacon bits
  • Heavy cream
  • Water

You can use light cream cheese if you prefer, but I like the taste of regular cream cheese better.

You can also use real bacon, I just like how easy this recipe is with the bacon bits!  Plus, if you have a well-stocked pantry like I do, you might already have bacon bits on hand and it saves a little time.

You can find real bacon bits pieces that taste delicious.

 

 

How To Make Creamy Brussel Sprouts with Bacon

First, chop your brussel sprouts.  Cut the ends off and slice them, making them the perfect bite size for this dish (like shown in the picture below).

Then place them in your skillet with a little bit of water and cover with lid.  Using water instead if oil helps cook the brussel sprouts through and also eliminates unnecessary calories.  

Cook over medium heat until they are almost cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

Remove lid, add garlic salt, bacon bits, cream cheese, and heavy cream.

Turn heat down to low and cook 3-5 minutes or until the brussel sprouts with bacon get creamy and thick.

Creamy Brussel Sprouts with Bacon

This brussel sprouts recipe is creamy, garlicy, bacony and ultimately delicious. What more can you ask for?

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussel sprouts, Ends cut off and sliced
  • 2 T water
  • 3/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup bacon bits
  • 2 T cream cheese
  • 4 T heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Place brussel sprouts and water in a non stick skillet on medium heat.
  2. Cover and cook 8-10 minutes.
  3. Remove lid, add garlic salt, bacon bits, cream cheese, and heavy cream.
  4. Turn heat to low, cook 3-5 more minutes until creamy and thick.
  5. ENJOY!
