Gluten Free Banana Muffins
After learning that I have an auto-immune disease I have been trying to cut out gluten to see if I feel a difference in my body, so this recipe is gluten-free. The oatmeal takes the place of the flour in these gluten-free muffins.
Make sure to check the label of the oatmeal if you need to be gluten-free, the oats themselves are gluten free but some oatmeal products say they may contain wheat. Here is a good gluten-free oatmeal.
I love using oatmeal in place of flour in my gluten free muffins because it’s cheap, I always have some on hand and are loaded with nutrients like protein and fiber.
Blender Muffins
The best thing about these healthy banana oatmeal muffins is that you put everything into a blender and it does all the mixing for you. The Ninja Blender is my favorite for making blender muffins, mashed potatoes, smoothies and more.
I have had mine for years and it still works great, I use it daily.
Healthy Oatmeal Muffins- 2 Ways
When I made these Healthy Banana Oatmeal Muffins for the first time, I fell in love. They were so delicious and gluten-free as well, I couldn’t get enough. My kids and husband enjoyed them, but said that adding some chocolate in would make them even more delicious! So that’s what I do for them now.
Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Oatmeal Muffins
My kids favorite way I make these muffins is with chocolate chips, of course. I have tried to make many different gluten-free chocolate chip muffins, this recipe is the best. They come out with a nice fluffy texture, you can’t even tell they are gluten-free.
The ingredients are so simple, there are only 8!
INGREDIENTS
- Bananas
- Oats
- Eggs
- Greek yogurt
- Brown sugar
- Chocolate chips
- Baking powder
- Baking soda

Now, let me tell you how easy they are to make. 🙂
How to make gluten free chocolate chip banana muffins
Throw everything into the blender, except the chocolate chips.
Blend on high for a couple minutes, scrape down the sides of the blender if needed.
Once it is smooth, fold in the semi sweet chocolate chips. You could also use white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, the possibilities are endless. Well maybe not endless, but there are a lot.
Then you will pour into a muffin/cupcake pan. I don’t like to use cupcake liners for these muffins, they lack the oil of regular muffins and I think they come out better without the liners. If you choose to use liners, spray the liners before putting the muffin mix into them.

Bake for 15 minutes at 400, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Then enjoy!
This blender muffin recipe will make 12 muffins.

I made these this week and they were delicious! The easiest recipe that I have found. I subbed a flax egg and baked them in a cake tin since I’m lazy and hate washing muffin tins 🙂
Thank you for the recipe!
I make them in a cake pan sometimes bc of laziness too! I’m so glad you enjoyed them. 🙂
Question- does this recipe call for 2 cups cooked oatmeal, or 2 cups of oats?
Thanks!
Hi Kristin, this recipe calls for 2 cups of oats. Thanks for the comment, I will clarify better in the post! 🙂
Do you have the carb and sugar levels?
For the cinnamon ones, 19 carbs 6 sugar. For chocolate chip ones, 22 carbs 9 sugars. This will vary a little bit depending on your ingredients. 🙂
