Air Fryer Greek Chicken

I like to make my greek chicken recipe in my air fryer.  Making it in the air fryer helps keep the chicken juicy and moist on the inside.  I have said it a million times before and I will say it again, I LOVE my air fryer.  I use it daily, it is my favorite kitchen appliance.

If you do not have an air fryer, you can grill your chicken or cook in a skillet.

For grilling or in skillet: It will depend on the size of your chicken breast.  Grill or cook in a skillet for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature is 165°.  Having a meat thermometer is very helpful in the kitchen.

Greek Chicken Marinade

This greek chicken marinade is delicious and gives the chicken so much flavor.  You can also use this marinade on other things, like potatoes or lamb.

You want to start marinading your chicken before you begin the recipe.  The longer you let it marinade, the more flavor it will have.  Anywhere from 30 minutes-24 hours.  I marinade my chicken in the morning so when I am ready to make my air fryer greek chicken with tzatziki sauce it is ready to go.

Easy Greek Chicken Marinade

Put all the ingredients into a ziplock bag along with the chicken, shake it around and place into the refrigerator until ready to cook.

Tzatziki Sauce

While your chicken is marinading, make your delicious tzatziki sauce.

You need a blender or food processor for the sauce.

I use the Ninja Blender as my blender and food processor.  This is another appliance that I love to use regularly.

Tzatziki Ingredients

  • english cucumber
  • salt
  • greek yogurt (I like to use Fage 0%, it is SO thick and creamy.)
  • garlic powder
  • lemon
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • dill

I use the English cucumbers or mini cucumbers because they have less water content. You can use regular if that is all you have or can find.

Chop the cucumbers up, sprinkle them with salt over a strainer for 10 minutes to get more water out before blending everything together.

Blend all ingredients except the yogurt until well blended.

Mix the blended ingredients into the yogurt.

Chill at least 30 minutes.

When I serve this dinner up to my family I like to serve with pita bread, roasted potatoes and some lemon.  I use the leftover marinade to coat my potatoes, cook at 375° F for 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

It looks so pretty on the platter, my kids think this Greek Chicken with Tzatziki Sauce is so fancy!

  • Love the recipe and Tzat Tziki get it from a Greek restaurant that we order from they make it Old-style, as in Greece. Just the Greek Yougurt, cucumbers, lemon juice and dill weed. That’s for purists, and the only way I’ve ever had it. There are many ways to make it , garlic & olive oil figure heavily in Greek Cuisine. I have to make a couple of changes to the marinade. I get horrid migraines so no red wine vinegar. Not a major problem I can sub Vinegar Balsamico of Modena or Lemon Juice, I can replace the garlic Mrs Dash, with fresh minced, garlic and Lemon Pepper Mrs Dash., just not use cayenne. There is some in Mrs Dash , not much but about all I can handle. Got a CSA package of chicken legs in the freezer, they will be great this way. This looks so delish, can’t wait to try it.Thanks for the recipe!
