What Kind Of Energy Do We Need?
There are many factors in our daily lives that can give us energy or take it away. Your body NEEDS energy to get through the day. You need mental energy and physical energy.
Mental energy is for your brain, obviously. If you work, take care of kids, drive a car, go to school, cook dinner, or any other task, this requires mental energy. If you do not have enough mental energy you will find yourself stressed out, drained and tired.
Physical energy is the energy you need to physically move your body through out the day. You need physical energy not only to go to work, school or take care of your kids but you need it to take care of your body as well.
You don’t want to live a lifestyle void of activity. Our bodies are made to move. The healthier our bodies are the more we can move and the more energy you will have.
Without the proper energy we need to get through the day, our bodies will react in ways we don’t want. Such as stress, mood swings, fatigue, depression, weight gain, sickness and more.
If you feel like your energy has been drained from your body all the sudden, be sure to check in with your doctor. There are many medical reasons why your body can feel that way. I know that first hand.
What Does Exhaustion Mean Energetically?
From an energy stand point being exhausted all the time can mean that you are feeling overwhelmed by life. Maybe you are putting to much on your plate or over extending yourself to others before taking care of you. I also think that healing old traumas and wounds clears up space for new energy to be created. So if you are feeling very tired and low, maybe take a look at it from this perspective as well.
How To Boost Energy Naturally

Eat Healthier to Boost Energy
You are what you eat. I am sure you have heard that saying many times before, but this time really think about it.
If you are eating heavily processed food and junk food, do you think that you will feel the best you can?
The answer is no.
Our bodies need nutrients to do what they need to do. They are like our cars. If you put the right gas and fluids in your car, it runs great and gets you where you need to go. But if you don’t your car won’t work properly.
Think of your body this way. If you give your body the proper nutrients it needs, it will do great things for you. And when you don’t, you will feel tired and sluggish.
Tips to eat healthier and gain energy
-Drink enough water
Drink enough structured water. Put some minerals or mineral salt into it, that way your body can actually absorb the hydration.
-Eat clean, whole foods
This means limiting the amount of processed junk that you eat. This will give your body the nutrients that it needs and in return you will get more energy.
Nuts are a great food for energy. They contain magnesium and folic acid, which your body can turn into energy. Some great nuts to eat are walnuts, peanuts, cashews and almonds.
If you change up your eating habits and eat better food for your body, you will notice your energy increasing. This is because you are giving your body the things it needs, so it will be able to work better for you.

Get More Sleep
Sleep is one of the most important things for your energy level. If you are not getting the proper amount of sleep, your body cannot function how it should. Don’t let yourself miss out on sleep. Get your butt to bed!
Your body needs 8 hours of sleep for your mental and physical energy. Sleep deprivation can lead to many other health issues.
Tips to get better sleep
-Avoid caffeine in the evening
-Meditate
-Take a hot bath with Epsom salt
-Exercise during the day
-Avoid screens a couple hours before bedtime
-Sleep in the dark
If you have trouble sleeping, like I do, there are some natural supplements that can help. I have a full post of my favorite natural sleep solutions that my whole family uses.
Magnesium can help improve sleep among many other things. You can read my article here about how magnesium oil helps improve sleep. There are many ways you can get added magnesium, but the spray is my preferred method.

Drink Herbal Tea
There are many different herbal teas out there, it’s hard to know which ones will give you energy. There are two that come to mind when I think of energy.
Green Tea is known for giving energy, boosting metabolism and lowering blood pressure. It also contains a small amount of caffeine, it gives you a little energy but none of the jitters that coffee can give you. This is because it also contains l-theanine, which slows down the absorption of caffeine, helping your energy last longer.
Black Tea is another great tea, known for boosting your energy naturally. It contains caffeine and l-theanine just like green tea.
Drinking these teas are not only good for you but can help boost your energy throughout the day.

Exercise
It’s no secret that exercise is good for your mental and physical health, but did you know that it can also boost your energy?
When you exercise, you release endorphins (“feel-good” chemicals). When your endorphins are released, you will feel less stressed, less pain and more energized.
Exercise also increases your cardiovascular health. This helps you have more endurance to get things done throughout the day. You don’t have to do crazy hard workouts to be healthy. Even walking more everyday can help.
So instead of sitting on the couch, learn how you can be more active everyday. Making an effort to be more active will help you get a better nights sleep.

Take Vitamins
There are so many different vitamins out there, it’s hard to know which ones to take. If you think you are deficient in a certain vitamin, go see your doctor so they can check that for you. There are some vitamins you don’t want to just start taking on your own, but there are a few that are perfectly fine to take for energy and well being. You also want to try to get most of your vitamins and minerals from what your eating, but sometimes you might need a little help.
So what are the best vitamins to help with energy?
Vitamin B
Vitamin B helps turn the food you are eating into energy for your cells. You can get plenty of vitamin B from meats and dairy. If you are low in vitamin B or don’t eat a lot of meat or dairy, you can use a good vitamin B supplement.
Vitamin D
Being low in vitamin D can mess with so many things, especially your mental health. Get yourself out and into the sunshine! If you are not out in the sunshine regularly, consider using a good vitamin D supplement.
Magnesium
Like I said above, magnesium can help with so many things. If your body is low in magnesium, you can feel sluggish and tired. You can take magnesium in pill form, gummy form, spray, epsom salts, and more. You can get natural magnesium from spinach, black beans and dark chocolate. Perfect reason to eat dark chocolate daily.
Making sure you have the proper vitamins daily will help keep your energy level where you need it to be.

Stop Stressing
Ditching the stress is a lot easier said than done but it is something that all of us could work on.
Tips to stop stressing
-Do yoga or meditation. The breathing that you do in yoga and meditation can help your body eliminate fatigue.
-Dry Brushing. Dong this can help stimulate your lymphatic system and feels like a nice awakening skin massage. You can read all about dry brushing and its benefits here.
-Take time for self care. After you dry brush yourself, hop into a hot bath, dim lights and turn on some calming music. Taking time for yourself can have a big impact on how you feel. Learning when you need a break and not pushing past your limits is so important for your psychical and mental health.
Learning how to stop letting the stress of life get to you can be hard. Once you find out what works for you, you will feel like a better and more energized person.
How to get more energy naturally
Boosting your energy doesn’t have to come from energy drinks and coffee. You can boost your energy naturally by using by using the tips listed above.
Once you make these changes little by little, you won’t look back. I mean, who doesn’t want to feel more energized everyday? I know I do. Your body will feel so much better and you will have the energy you need.
What are your favorite ways to have more energy throughout the day? I would love to hear your thoughts and what has helped you.
